With regrets, SELF HELP AGAINST DEPRESSION INC.  S.H.A.D. announces that it will cease operation effective immediately.  In the days to come, steps will be taken to dissolve the organization and surrender our charter.  Following more than 37 years of offering free service to the community in the area of mental health under our charitable banner, our founder and Executive Secretary, Sheila Rubin, has announced her retirement.

 

Included in the many services that had been offered by S.H.A.D. INC. were TEL-SHAD BUDDIES* and TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE*.  Throughout the years, Ms. Rubin also offered one-on-one telephone counseling to thousands of callers suffering from various forms of anxiety, social dysfunction and depression.
